Product Description
Introducing Zona Plus…a safe, proven therapy to lower blood pressure recommended by doctors and reviewed in the Harvard Heart Letter! The Zona Plus has been cleared by the FDA, has no negative side effects and be used by multiple patients. EFFECTIVENESS: When used as directed, the Zona Plus reduces blood pressure in non-medicated patients from 5 mmHg to 55 mmHg, with an average drop of 25+ mmHg. Individuals who are taking medication see average drops of 19mmHg. More than 90% of people who use it are able to lower their blood pressure without medication. HOW TO USE THE ZONA PLUS: The therapy is simple. First, you squeeze as hard as you can for 1-2 seconds with your right hand, then with your left, each followed by 10 seconds of rest. Next you’re directed through four 2-minute sessions, 2 with each hand, separated by 1-minute rest periods. And you just need to do 5 therapy sessions a week to see results. HOW THE ZONA PLUS WORKS: The Zona Plus changes how your body works from the inside out; people who use this therapy see blood pressure improvements that are 7 times better than with regular exercise and 2 to 3 times as effective as medication. There are two major measurable effects upon the body caused by Zona Plus therapy. One is improvement in endothelial dysfunction and the other is improved vagal function (a “relaxing” effect). The medical theory for how the isometric therapy devices lower blood pressure is that the combined effects of improved vagal (autonomic nervous system) function and improved endothelial function cause the blood vessels to strengthen, dilate, and become more flexible. These changes reduce resistance to blood flow and allow the heart to move blood through the body at a lower pressure. The two fold approach of combining a physiological change with an autonomic nervous system change produces additional benefits in lowered blood pressure for many people, when compared with a simple biofeedback device.

  1. I just did a search at the FDA web site and there is no mention of ZONA or ZONA PLUS?

  2. I know a gentleman who used the Zona Plus and lowered his blood pressure over 50 points and highly recommended it. I did some research and there have been a lot of medical studies done that support the Zona. Anyway, I got it for my Grandma and although she has not been using it long enough to see results, she is pleased with the quality of the product.

  3. I used the Zona diligently for the time allowed on the warranty, exactly two months. I didn’t really notice any significant drop in blood pressure so I sent it back. There was no problem sending it back within the allotted time frame. However, when I stopped using it, I noticed my morning pressure started rising. I think Zona should give at least a 6 month warranty to let people get used to the devise and to actually get used to measuring their BP regularly so a change can be noticed. I didn’t want to go past my warranty period and be stuck with the huge and (way over) price tag so I sent it back not really knowing for sure if it was helping, but having my doubts I sent it back. Now I wish I had it back to keep using it but don’t want to shell out that money again and pay shipping again etc. I got a really good deal directly from Zona for $349 but it was still way too expensive for what it is and the technology behind it. I bought a simple digital hand exerciser and am going to give it a go now that I understand the way the Zona is designed to work. Hopefully my BP will lower by this method or better yet, hopefully Zona will lower their price or improve their technology so one feels they are getting a much better product. I have a pedometer that records way more info on a much smaller device and even comes with a USB cord to record the data on my PC, and it only cost me less than $40 so what’a the deal, Zona?

  4. I had great hopes for this item but it hurts my hand so much when I use it that I had to stop. They should make a smaller one for smaller hands like mine.

  5. I just purchased this device, and I will let it stand on the research merits as to its efficacy in lowering blood pressure values. Notwithstanding that effectiveness with daily use, I question why it is priced so terribly high. I had expected some sophisticated software running on the device, but it’s not there. It won’t even track your daily progress numbers, but that may be because that number isn’t all that important. Basically, it just seems to measure if you hold tightly in your target grip strength zone for two minutes with each hand, twice, with sixty second rest periods in between. If you are not gripping tight enough, the monitor reads to grip “more” and if too much, grip “less.” I posed my question to the company, and I got this in response from Micah Wood, Zona Health Sales manager: “To be very straightforward, we charge what we do because the free market supports our pricing.” In my opinion, you pay at least twice as much as you should for this thing (our federal Anthem insurance didn’t cover a cent). One hopes that its price will soon come down to a more affordable amount.
